Take a Breather at Oxygen Hair Salon

From the vibrant orange walls to the trendy background music, Oxygen Hair Salon and Spa is leading the way in perking up Denver’s chic hair salons. Located in Cherry Creek North, the salon sits on the second floor on the corner of Josephine and 3rd Street. Its giant windows let natural light shine in, while giving customers the entertaining view of bustling traffic and lively shoppers.
The salon celebrated its one-year opening last month on May 1st. Its success can be related to its innovative addition of an oxygen bar. This type of bar began in the late 1990s in Japan and is now most commonly seen in Las Vegas. The “bar” is really a device that allows the customer to inhale pure oxygen, sometimes with the addition of scented flavors, to strengthen the immune system and enhance overall health. Since there are currently less than a handful in the Denver area, people often come just for the one-dollar-per-minute oxygen bar and not necessarily the services of the salon.
Hairstylist Thanh Vo, owner of Oxygen Salon, has been doing hair ever since he was in Vietnam fifteen years ago. He always hoped to open his own salon and learned a great deal working under master hairdresser, Paul Garcia, for ten years before making his big move. When Thanh was ready to open his salon, several other hair styling co-workers joined him. The spa is currently independent-based with eleven hairdressers, two facial experts, and one masseuse.
