Cobalt Dragons - a Mixed Heritage

In a continuing effort to showcase the varied pieces in the Denver Art Museum’s Asian Art Collection, this month’s focus is on Islamic ceramics from Iran. Depicted is the museum’s “Bowl with Dragons.” Its story illustrates the movement of people and ideas in Asia through to the fifteenth century, connecting people in the East and West through the civilization of the Muslim world.
