The recent rotation in the Asian art galleries on the 5th floor of the Denver Art Museum has brought to the public eye a host of wonderful objects – many being exhibited for the first time. These include a large oil painting by Chinese artist Wu Xiaohang dated 1999. Her “Blue Fish” swims into view as soon as one enters the China gallery, a striking canvas elegantly hung over the massive Ming dynasty altar table at the far end of this serene space.
