DenverDays_2015Starting Saturday, August 1, residents from across the city will come together for the third annual Denver Days. Mayor Michael B. Hancock’s signature outreach effort brings neighbors together to celebrate the Denver spirit through social gatherings and community service projects. This year, Denver Days runs from August 1-9 and will showcase the character and vibrancy of Denver’s 78 unique neighborhoods.

“Denver Days gives residents the opportunity to connect with each other to make our city a better place to

work, live and play,” Mayor Hancock said. “There are more than 220 Denver Days events throughout the week, so I encourage everyone to go out, see what events are happening in their neighborhoods and celebrate Denver.”

One of Mayor Hancock’s core values is community outreach, which is why he launched Denver Days as a way to connect neighbors to neighborhoods and strengthen the city’s social fabric so that residents can work year-round to create vibrant, livable communities.

Denver Days, Denver Public Schools and the Denver Public Schools Foundation are teaming up to collect back-to-school supplies for Denver schools that serve a high percentage of students from low income households. The drive is part of the Raise Your Hand for DPS Students campaign, which encourages all Denver residents to help their neighborhood schools by volunteering, giving, or championing for Denver schools.

Mayor Hancock will support this initiative by stopping at several Denver Days events on Saturday, August 1 and asking communities to stuff a DPS school bus with school supplies. Residents are encouraged to stop by a Stuff the Bus Rally at one of the Denver Days events with their school supply donations on Saturday, August 1.
