Have you been looking for a neighborhood frozen yogurt shop that can satisfy more than just your sweet tooth? If so, then look no more. It is time to pay a visit to Toppings and More.
The name “Toppings” itself doesn’t describe all of the unique foods and services that this eatery provides. With the explosion of frozen yogurt shops across the metro area, “you need to provide something more than just frozen yogurt,” said Manager Minty Charupa. With that in mind Charupa’s sister created a one-stop yogurt and hot dog shop.
Sourcing their frozen yogurt locally from Boulder, Toppings offers eight all natural flavors ranging from plain vanilla to pumpkin spice. Customers are not just limited to one flavor they are able to mix and match to their liking and of course you can then add the wide varieties of “toppings,” with over thirty different toppings to choose from.
Patrons can customize their yogurt with everything from fresh fruits, cereals to tapioca balls called “bursts.” Bursts are little tapioca balls filled with juices like mango and strawberry and when you bite into one they literally “burst” into your mouth. You can get your frozen yogurt and all the toppings for only 34 cents per ounce.
The second specialty for Toppings is their hot dogs, but I’m not sure if the term is correct for their unique spins on this All-American classic. Customers can order a variety of pre-designed combos or choose to build their own dog.
Their hot dog menu has several Asian influenced dogs like the Panang-O-Rama and the Not A Spring Roll. The Not A Spring Roll replaces the hot dog with salmon wrapped in rice paper and topped with a lettuce leaf, cilantro, carrots and lime sauce. Not sure what you’re in the mood for? Try the Coast To Coast which has ingredients inspired by different toppings you can find on dogs around the country. Toppings brings in bread daily form a local bakery and uses 100% Vienna Beef hot dogs to ensure freshness and top quality.
The one thing Toppings has to offer that no other frozen yogurt shop nor even a hot dog stand has is a full service bar. That’s right, they even triple their specialties as a local watering hole. You can order a huge self cooling pitcher of Chang Beer for only $12.50. Charupa said, “I wanted to have a place where my friends and I can go and have some drinks without having to drive all the way downtown.” Toppings has become a second home for those enjoying the bar to high school students, hanging out after a sports game. Undoubtedly, Toppings has something for everyone—come and check it out and see what you’re in the mood for.
